A Relative Comparison of Leading Supply Chain Management Software Packages

    Get PDF
Supply Chain Management (SCM) has proven to be an effective tool that aids companies in the development of competitive advantages. SCM Systems are relied on to manage warehouses, transportation, trade logistics and various other issues concerning the coordinated movement of products and services from suppliers to customers. Although in today’s fast paced business environment, numerous supply chain solution tools are readily available to companies, choosing the right SCM software is not an easy task. The complexity of SCM systems creates a multifaceted issue when selecting the right software, particularly in light of the speed at which technology evolves. In this paper, we use the approach of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine which SCM software best meets the needs of a company. The AHP approach outlined in this paper can be easily transferred to the comparison of other SCM software packages

A study of two bispectral features from envelope signals for bearing fault diagnosis

    Get PDF
: To accurately detect and diagnose bearing faults, bispectral analysis has received more attention recently because of its unique property of noise reduction and nonlinearity extraction. Particularly this study investigates two typical bispectra: conventional bispectrum (CB) and modulation signal bispectrum (MSB) for suppressing noise influences in envelope signals and hence obtaining more accurate diagnostic features. The first component from the diagonal slice of CB results and that of the subdiagonal slices of MSB results are taken as the diagnostic features considering effective inclusion of information and easy of computations. Simulative and experimental studies show that both MSB and CB features result in good diagnostic performances but MSB may outperform CB slightly in that it shows smaller variance in attaining the feature and more sensitive to weak fault signatures. This merit of MSB may be due to that the MSB feature has more diagnostic information as it is the combination of first three harmonics, whereas the CB feature is combined from just the first two harmonics

Study on Economic-Ecological Resilience Measurement and Improvement Strategy of Yunnan Ethnic Regions

    Get PDF
Nowadays, the ecological environment has been seriously damaged due to the continuous development of social economy and the rapid advancement of urbanization. The construction of ecological civilization has become the focus of common concern of all sectors of society. Yunnan ethnic minority areas are mostly distributed in ecological fragile areas, facing the threat of natural disasters, such as earthquakes and mudslides, and their economic development is also relatively backward. Therefore, using the coordinated development model, this paper takes 8 ethnic minority areas in Yunnan Province as the research object to measure it’s economic and ecological resilience and the coordination between them. Results prove that: First, the economic resilience and ecological resilience of Yunnan ethnic areas have significantly improved, but the level is still to be improved; Second, there is a huge gap of economic and ecological resilience among regions; Third, the coordinated degree of regional economic and ecological resilience showed a good trend of stable, and constantly coordinated development. Finally, this paper proposes specific strategies to promote the resilience of ethnic regions from the perspective of economy, ecology and the coordination relationship between them, in order to achieve a “win-win” economic development and ecological security in ethnic areas

Evaluation of a Novel Biphasic Culture Medium for Recovery of Mycobacteria: A Multi-Center Study

on L-J slants. Automated liquid culture systems are expensive. A low-cost culturing medium capable of rapidly indicating the presence of mycobacteria is needed. The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a novel biphasic culture medium for the recovery of mycobacteria from clinical sputum specimens from suspected pulmonary tuberculosis patients.<0.001).

Effects of Consumer Online Purchase Costs On Online and Traditional Retailers

    No full text
Our research provides a useful framework to help business marketers identify the effect of consumer online purchase costs on firm performances in online and traditional channel competition. A game theory model is developed to determine the optimal strategies for online and traditional retailers. We demonstrate that consumer online purchase costs always have a valuable impact on firm profits, and further show that consumer online purchase costs always have a much more valuable impact on firm profits whenever the traditional retail transaction costs and the product web-fit change. We also find that consumer online purchase costs have a greater impact on the retailer\u27s profits in a Stackelberg competitive system than in a Bertrand competitive system. Based on our results, managerial implications are discussed and probable paths of future research are identified
